Local college roundup: Cumberland County College women's basketball improves to 3-0

The Cumberland County College women's basketball team rolled to its third straight victory, 76-51, over visiting Anne Arundel Community College (Md.) on Wednesday.

Tess Elder (Sacred Heart) scored 21 points, Alicia Cox (Vineland) added 17 and Kyra Lunsford (Vineland) had 14.

The Dukes (3-0) had 33 offensive rebounds, 18 steals and 11 assists. They went 7-for-11 from the free-throw line.

Cumberland County cross country: The Dukes' women finished third at the National Junior College Athletic Assoc-iation Region XIX championships on Oct. 27 in Lincroft.

Tessa Ketterer (Vineland) finished in a team-best 26 minutes, 3 seconds.

The Cumberland men finished seventh, let by Chris McCray (Millville) with a team-best 30:29.
