The top-seeded Richard Stockton College men's basketball team shot 63 percent from the field in the second half to beat No. 8 seed The Sage Colleges of New York 79-69 in an Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Metro tournament quarterfinal Wednesday.
The victory was Stockton's 20th of the season, the 15th time coach Gerry Matthews has reached that mark in his 27 seasons.
Darnell McCargo scored all 16 of his points in the second half, and Kevin Johnson scored all 13 of his points after the break. Rameel Johnson shot 6-for-7 for the game for 14 points.
Stockton will host the winner of No. 4 Mount St. Mary of N.Y. and No. 5 John Jay at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Stockton men's lacrosse: Stockton rallied from a one-goal halftime deficit to beat Neumann University 17-9.
Nick Bologno led the Ospreys (2-0) with seven goals and two assists. Connor DeCicco added three goals, while Vincent Manasia and James O'Donnell each had two. Kevin Eipel made 16 saves for Stockton.
