Local college soccer: 4 Stockton players honored

Richard Stockton College senior Jess McQuillen was named to the All-South Atlantic Region second team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America on Monday.

Juniors Sarah Hinkle, Leah Braidi (Sacred Heart) and Briana Fischer were selected to the third team.

McQuillen finished the season with 10 assists, which led the New Jersey Athletic Conference, and also scored three goals for 16 points.

She ended her career with 17 goals, 21 assists and 55 points in three seasons at Stockton.

Hinkle was NJAC Goalkeeper of the Year and voted to the NJAC first team. Hinkle played the most minutes in the league (2,023) and ranked second with a .857 save percentage, third with 90 saves and 7.5 shutouts, plus fourth with a 0.67 goals-against average.

Fischer scored four goals, including three game-winners, and added two assists for 10 points on the season.

Braidi helped the defense net 12 shutouts.

Braidi also contributed two assists, the first two of her career.
