Local colleges: Cumberland earns baseball split

The Cumberland County College baseball team split with visiting Delaware Tech-Owens in the season opener on Saturday in Vineland. Delaware Tech-Owens won the first game 7-4 and Cumberland took the second game 9-2.

Cody Stashak (Oakcrest) was the winning pitcher of Game 2, going four innings. Stashak was 2-for-2 with four RBIs. Vaughn Watson (Vineland) hit a double and reached base three times.

Stashak was 2-for-4 with a triple, a double and two RBIs in Game 1.

Atlantic Cape Community College men’s basketball: Camden County Community College beat visiting Atlantic Cape Community 85-71 in a Region XIX first-round game.

Armin Cane (Pleasantville) led Atlantic Cape (12-11) with 27 points and 11 rebounds, and Muji McBride (Atlantic City) added 13 points and 15 rebounds.

Teammate David Rucker added eight points and 11 rebounds.
