Local colleges: Ramapo women defeat Stockton; Atlantic Cape wins two

The Ramapo College women’s basketball team beat Richard Stockton College 80-70 on Saturday in the New Jersey Athletic Conference in Galloway Township.

Ramapo’s Micaela Moore, a 5-10 forward, made 9-of-10 field-goal atttempts and hit 10-of-10 from the line to score 28 points. Ramapo improved to 11-4 overall and 5-3 NJAC. Stockton is 8-4 and 4-4.

Jackie Jerkovich added 14 points for the Roadrunners and Faith Flannery had 13. Che’Na Thompson (12-of-18 from the floor) led Stockton with 26 points and had five steals. Teammate Sara Farrell had 19 points and nine rebounds.

Atlantic Cape women’s basketball: The Bucs (8-8) rolled over visiting Sussex Community College 71-16 in a Region 19 game.

Darice Collier (Absegami) led the way with 16 points and Arlene Craig (Absegami) added 12 points. Benni Santiago (Oakcrest) and Kerry Player (Cape May Tech) each contributed double-doubles. Santiago recorded 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Player posted 11 points, 11 rebounds and six blocks.

Atlantic Cape men’s basketball: Atlantic Cape beat Sussex Community College 92-62.

Nate Brown scored 14 points, had five rebounds, five steals and three assists. Muji McBride (Atlantic City) with added 16 points and Armin Cane (Pleasantville) scored 14 for the Bucs (6-9).
