Richard Stockton College cross country runner Morgan Sinclair won the women’s 6,000-meter race and helped the Ospreys place second at the New Jersey Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women meet Saturday in Galloway Township.

Stockton’s men’s cross country team took second place at the Osprey Open, which the school also hosted.

Sinclair won the women’s race in 23 minutes, 19.81 seconds. Nicole Salge was the second Osprey to finish, placing 11th in 24:48.58.

In the men’s 8K, James Rivers (Barnegat) finished third out of 94 runners in 26:41.97 and Randy Faiges was seventh in 26:55.93.

Stockton returns to action on Oct. 6 at noon in the Jack St. Clair Memorial run at Philadelphia University.

Stockton men’s soccer: The Ospreys (4-3-1) defeated William Paterson 4-2. Anthony Procopio had a goal and an assist for Stockton.

Stockton volleyball: The Ospreys (10-4) lost to Moravian and host Eastern.

Moravian won 3-1 (game scores were 25-23, 25-18, 13-25, 25-18) while Eastern won 3-0 (game scores 25-18, 25-23, 25-18). Nicole Serekian had 23 kills and 16 digs over both matches.

Stockton women’s soccer: Stockton scored two goals in the final 12 minutes of regulation to beat host William Paterson University 3-2 in Wayne.

Briana Fischer scored the winning goal from just inside the 18 yard line in the 86th minute, and Danielle McKeown assisted.

Stockton improved to 6-2-1 overall and 1-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The Pioneers are now 3-4-2 overall and 1-2 NJAC.

McKeown and Jacque Becker also scored for the Ospreys. Stockton goalie Sarah Hinkle had six saves.

Atlantic Cape Community College women’s volleyball: Atlantic Cape lost two matches, to Middlesex Community College 3-0 and to Morris County College 3-2.

The game scores against Middlesex were 25-16, 25-20 and 25-23. Middlesex won 25-10, 23-25, 25-16, 20-25 and 15-12.

Sarah Street had 10 assists, seven digs and one ace for Atlantic Cape against Middlesex, while Kerry Player had seven kills, five digs and a block, and Danielle Barger added three kills.

Against Morris, Street had 15 assists, nine digs and an ace, and Player contributed seven kills, 10 digs and two blocks.

Also for Atlantic Cape, Jessica Solorzano added five kills and seven digs, and Hannah Coleman had 25 digs.
