Richard Stockton College athletes Sarah Hinkle and Shannon Clark received New Jersey Athletic Conference weekly awards on Tuesday.

Hinkle, a sophomore goalie, was chosen the NJAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Clark, a freshman setter, was selected the NJAC Women’s Volleyball Rookie of the Week.

Hinkle made eight saves in a 2-1 win over Shenandoah College (Va.) on Aug. 31 in the season opener at the Cougar Classic at Kean University.

Shenandoah was the 2011 USA South Conference champion. Hinkle didn’t have to make a save in 60 minutes in a 3-0 win over Elms College on Sept. 1 at the Cougar Classic.

Clark helped the Ospreys to a 3-1 start at the SUNY Cortland Red Dragon Classic.

She averaged a team-high 5.20 assists per set in the four matches.

She had 21 assists against Fredonia State (N.Y.), 12 against York (Pa.), 26 against Buffalo State, and 19 against Skidmore.

Clark also totaled 11 digs, four kills and two aces for the four matches.

Stockton women’s tennis: The Ospreys’ match at home against Georgian Court College was postponed Tuesday due to rain. The match has not been rescheduled.
