The Rowan University football team rolled over William Paterson 41-14 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game Saturday afternoon.

The Profs improved to 3-0 on the season, including 2-0 in the NJAC. William Paterson fell to 0-3.

Rowan running back Anthony Diorio rushed for 153 yards on 12 carries, scoring twice. It was his third straight game this season with more than 100 yards rushing.

Area starting offensive linemen Darryl Guilford (Buena Regional H.S.) and Eric Morrison (Egg Harbor Township) provided the blocking for Diorio.

Wide receiver J.J. Kulcsar had seven receptions for 75 yards and a touchdown, and quarterback Naldy Tavarez went 10 for 17 with 94 yards passing and a touchdown.

Chris Noesges had five tackles, a fumble recover and an interception. Kameron Kennedy returned a fumble 52 yards for a touchdown.

Several area players contributed on defense. Defensive end Kevin Stokes (Oakcrest) had four tackles, including two for a loss. Linebacker Christian Dawkins (St. Augustine Prep) had three tackles, including half of a tackle for a loss. Defensive back Shaquille Lee (Millville) had two tackles, including one for a loss, and defensive back Malachi Winters (Hammonton) had two tackles.

Rowan continues NJAC play 1 p.m. Saturday against Frostburg State. Frostburg (2-0) played Christopher Newport late Saturday.
