Richard Stockton senior Jess McQuillen was recognized by the New Jersey Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women as Stockton's NJAIAW Woman of the Year representative. McQuillen was recognized along with one female student-athlete from nearly every college in the state at the 21st annual NJAIAW luncheon at Seton Hall University on Sunday.

McQuillen concluded a three-year stint on the women’s soccer team in 2012 by leading the NJAC with 10 assists and scoring three goals for 16 points. The midfielder earned New Jersey Athletic Conference second-team and NSCAA All-South Atlantic Region third-team honors to finish with three all-conference and two all-region nods during her career.

McQuillen started all 73 games for Stockton over the last three seasons after transferring from Burlington County College. She totaled 17 goals and 21 assists for 55 points, and she led the Ospreys in assists in all three years. McQuillen finished her career tied for seventh at Stockton in assists. Off the field, she qualified for NJAC All-Academic Honorable Mention in 2011-12.

The NJAIAW awards program allows every high school and college in the state to recognize a Woman of the Year.

The annual luncheon is held in conjunction with National Girls and Women in Sports Day, which will take place on Feb. 6 this year.
