Temple University basketball player Khalif Wyatt apologized to his family and team following his arrest on prostitution and resisting arrest charges in Atlantic City.
Wyatt, of Norristown, Pa., said in a statement released Monday night that he "exercised very poor judgment."
"I apologize to my family, teammates, coaches and Temple University for the embarrassment that I have caused. I was in Atlantic City this past weekend celebrating my 21st birthday with friends and exercised very poor judgment by allowing myself and my friends to be put in a compromising situation. I intend to cooperate with the authorities during their investigation and the legal process."
Wyatt was among 23 people arrested by the Atlantic City Police Department's Special Investigation Unit as part of a two-day sweep that targeted prostitutes and their clients.
The rising senior finished fourth in the Atlantic 10 Conference in scoring this past season, averaging 19.1 points per game.
He also averaged 3.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.2 steals.
Wyatt has a court date set for Friday in Atlantic City Municipal Court.
