Tackle Demetress Bell: “It didn’t really affect me much at all. I live right down the street from (the NovaCare Complex). It didn’t feel like a hurricane to me, just a bunch of wind and rain. I didn’t lose power or anything. But I saw on TV where people in New Jersey and New York got hurt much, much worse than we did here.”

Defensive end Vinny Curry: “I grew up in Neptune and you can basically walk to the beach in Asbury Park from my house. That hurricane took out the entire beach. From what I heard, the Stone Pony (the bar made famous by Bruce Springsteen) was cut in half. It’s so bad in places like Asbury Park and Seaside Heights that people are still getting around in canoes. Everyone lost power and they turned my high school into a shelter.”

Long snapper Jon Dorenbos: “I live nearby, so we didn’t get hit at all. But my in-laws have a place on 15th Street in Avalon right off the beach and we (were) waiting to see what happened there. It didn’t look too good from what I was seeing on TV.”
