Staff Writer David Weinberg previews the Philadelphia Eagles' areas of need leading up to the NFL draft, which starts Thursday.

Who's there now: Michael Vick (starter), Nick Foles, Dennis Dixon, G.J. Kinne

Why it's a problem: By re-signing Vick and adding Dixon in the offseason, new coach Chip Kelly indicated that he has yet to determine if he thinks Foles can be a franchise quarterback. Kelly may draft one in the first or second round to groom as the future starter.

The best:

1. Geno Smith, West Virginia: 6-foot-2, 218-pounder has drawn considerable interest from the Eagles' brass in recent weeks.

2. Ryan Nassib, Syracuse: 6-2, 227-pounder has ties to the area. His father played football for Delaware and his mother played volleyball at Villanova.

3. EJ Manuel, Florida State: 6-5, 237-pounder has the size, speed and toughness to excel in a read-option system. The Eagles could grab him in the second round.

Tomorrow: Linebacker
