Press readers react, via email, Thursday night to the Philadelphia Eagles' 28-23 win over the Carolina Panthers.

Last week, people made fun of my preparations to go to the Super Bowl. Well, like the county-and-western song asks, "How do you like me now?".

The Eagles beat the Panthers and the referees in this one. The Panthers only had one penalty for 1 yard. Really?

The postgame show said the home team won every game with this same head referee last year.

Great effort again by the defense, offense and special teams. Lots of stars in this game.

The Eagles withstood the Panthers' early emotion and the offensive line's early struggles. Then the defense was dominating, and Wentz played great. The Panthers have no run game. They ask Newton to do to much.

The best record in the NFC —that was a statement game.
