Another 10-pound flounder hit the scales in the area.
This one weighed 10.86 and was caught Saturday by Linda Cavaliere of Brigantine. And it was the heaviest fish in the Brigantine American Legion Post 396 fishing tournament. It was caught on Candiru captained by Lou Cavaliere. Riptide Bait and Tackle reported it was caught in Absecon Inlet near Brigantine Bridge.
The overall title for the heaviest three flounder went to Wayne King and King Cobra with 21.36 combined weight. Heidi Pinkos caught a 3.8-pound flounder on North America with Steve Pinkos to take the women's title. Sydney Moore was the youth winner with a 2.60 catch on Moore Trouble with George Moore.
Co-chairs for the sixth annual were Mike Muncer and Guy Wilkins.
