Wednesday was a spectacular day on the water. The temps were in the 80s, the water was warm, there was a nice cool breeze — and there was a daytime moon to marvel at.
Linda Davoli of Brigantine fished her favorite spots in Absecon Inlet and had a great afternoon of consistent action.
Surprisingly, there were not a lot of boats fishing Absecon Inlet on a great weather day in July. Those that were there seemed to be catching a couple or a few flounder.
Davoli catches spot for bait and rigs them up live on slide rigs. There were a lot of bites on the spot, and at the end of the afternoon she racked up two keeper flounder and a small bluefish. The action was steady but the flounder seemed to let go of the spot before they were hooked.
The two keepers were around three pounds. Not a bad afternoon, at all.
