It has been windy almost all week, but wind or no wind anglers fishing the rocks in Absecon Inlet are catching fish.
Weakfish are biting at night under the lights, according to Noel Feliciano at One-Stop Bait and Tackle in Atlantic City. He said the fishers going for striped bass with plugs or clam and bloodworm for bait are picking weakfish at the Flagship and Melrose Avenue jetties and from the beach at Harrah's.
Feliciano said they catch flounder and sea perch and they have had a few shots of kingfish in the daytime.
They are catching weakfish in Mullica River. Cody Meyer had a keeper and a couple of throwbacks on a rainy night this week while fishing from Chestnut Neck Boat Yard in Port Republic.
Meyer was getting ready Friday afternoon to go out on the first shark trip of the season with two other young anglers - Josh Welsh and Kyle McKnight. They will be setting up for brown sharks and sand bar sharks in Great Bay.
