Flounder and big game are not the only hot fishing action off South Jersey right now. Sea bass are on the inshore wrecks sometimes with flounder, croaker and porgy; kingfish are starting to show up more in the surf; triggerfish are collecting around the jetties and bridges; weakfish are coming back and small bluefish are spread from the back bays and inlets to inshore.

Skipjack II had a recent charter that Capt. Bob DeSantis took to15 miles off the beach and had great sea bass action sailing out of Waretown. Croaker are in Delaware Bay at the lower end of Bayshore Channel with small weakfish and small bluefish. The Cape May jetties have the same combo and Matt Slobodjian at Jim's Bait and Tackle added saw-belied herring to the melange.

Anglers on the Ventnor City Fishing Pier started getting kingfish again over the weekend, plus great weather, a lot of weakfish and ocean perch make it interesting there.
