The Philadelphia Flyers' defense took another hit on Tuesday as the team announced that Andrej Meszaros is out indefinitely with a torn right Achilles tendon.

General manager Paul Holmgren said in a statement that Meszaros was injured last week during summer training in Slovakia.

Meszaros had surgery by Dr. Steve Raikin at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia.

Meszaros had seven goals and 18 assists in 62 games for the Flyers last season.
