Milligan leads the Braves, the No. 7 team in The Press Elite 11, in scoring this season with 18 goals. But during the week of Oct. 22, he distributed the ball to his teammates with three assists in a 4-0 win over Holy Spirit and three more in a 4-0 win over Ocean City. The win over the Red Raiders clinched the Cape-Atlantic League American Conference title. It’s the Braves’ first conference crown since 1977. Milligan also scored two goals in an Oct. 23 4-1 win over Atlantic City.
Capone won the singles title at the Cape-Atlantic League Individual Tennis Tournament on Oct. 25 at Vineland High School. Capone rallied to beat Egg Harbor Township sophomore Katie Garthaus 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 in the final. The win was Capone’s 11th straight and put her season record at 23-7. She reached the quarterfinals as a sophomore and the semifinals as a junior.
