The Ocean City High School baseball team took control of its game with Mainland Regional in the first four innings Monday in Linwood.

The Red Raiders pushed across seven more runs in the sixth inning and won 13-0, an atypically one-sided result in what has been a good rivalry through the years.

Ocean City collected 10 hits in the game, which ended after six innings on the 10-run rule. Most of the Red Raiders' lineup contributed to the offense, and winning pitcher Kyle Andrews scattered seven hits for the shutout.

"We hit the ball very well today, and played all facets of the game well," Ocean City coach Craig Mensinger said.

Ocean City improved to 8-3 and the Mustangs dropped to 3-6. The teams are in different conferences of the Cape-Atlantic League.

O.C. third baseman Sean Mooney went 3-for-4 with two runs, while right fielder Kieran Tracey was 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs. Designated hitter Mike Inacio had two doubles, while shortstop Zach Sellers had two hits. Center fielder Beau Hall went 1-for-2 with a double and three walks.

Andrews (3-1) struck out three and walked one.

"Kyle didn't have his 'A' game today, but he gutted it out," Mensinger said. "He pitched his heart out and got guys out when he needed to."

The Red Raiders scored twice in the second inning off David Donovan. Zellers got a infield hit, and two walks loaded the bases. Christian Candeloro singled in a run and Vince Terry made it 2-0 with a sacrifice fly.

"This was our one game with them this year and we really wanted to get the win," said Tracey, a 17-year-old senior who lives in Sea Isle City. "I've been reading up on Mainland, and they've been doing pretty well. Today we got the timely hits to get runners on board, and we got them in."

Mainland designated hitter John Wallace had three hits.
