The Hammonton High School baseball team grabbed the top seed in South Jersey Group III for the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association playoffs on Thursday.

St. Augustine Prep, No. 7 in The Press Elite 11, No. 9 Holy Spirit, Oakcrest, Lacey Township, and Egg Harbor Township earned the highest seeds of area schools in their respective groups. Nine local teams earned home-field advantage for first round games.

Ocean City, the defending South Jersey Group III champions, were seeded 10th.

The first round of the South Jersey tournament must be played by May 22 and the opening state rounds must be played by May 25. Here are games featuring local teams:
