The Atlantic City High School boys basketball team recovered from a slow start to beat Lenape 51-40 in the South Jersey Group IV championship game Monday night.

Lenape jumped out to a 10-0 lead, but Atlantic City eventually tied it at 16-16.

The Vikings won the ninth South Jersey title in school history and their fifth under coach Gene Allen, who won his first in 2005.

Atlantic City will play in a state semifinal at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Egg Harbor Township against the winner of the Central Jersey final between East Brunswick and Trenton.
