The Holy Spirit High School boys basketball team played from behind Sunday afternoon.

The Spartans never caught up.

Eastern ended Spirit's eight-game winning streak with a 50-43 win in an Olympic-Cape Challenge game at St. Augustine Prep in Buena Vista Township.

Spirit never led. Eastern jumped out to an 11-point first-quarter lead. The game matched two of the region's top teams. Eastern (16-4) is No. 5 in The Press Elite 11.

Guard Paul Moore led Spirit (14-7) with 20 points. Center Matt Klinewski scored 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for Eastern.

Cherry Hill West pulled way late despite 17 points and nine rebounds from Oakcrest center Isaiah Price. LaDarrell Dixon came off the bench to sink 5-of-9 shots and score 14 points for the Falcons.
