Lacey Township High School junior Danielle Leavitt won the girls Division 3 race at the South Jersey Cross Country Championship meet at Delsea Regional High School on Saturday.

Leavitt ran the 5,000-meter course in 18 minutes, 32 seconds, the fastest time of the day by a local girl. Hammonton's Lou Corgliano had the fastest boys time, running 15:42 to place second in the boys Division 3 race.

Absegami's Katie Juniewicz was fourth in the girls Division 3 race in 19:38. Following her were Millville's Victoria Thaler (sixth in 19:55) and Kaitlyn Dermen (ninth in 20:14). Wildwood Catholic's Emily Johnson placed second in the girls Division 1 race in 20:20.

Matt Nelson of Barnegat had the second fastest local time, finishing the boys Division 2 race in 16:09 for fourth place. Hammonton's Mark Kundrotas was 11th in Division 2 in 16:37, while Middle Township's Ryan Herlihy was eighth in Division 2 in 16:46.
