The Ocean City High School girls basketball team will have a new look this season.
It's a change that has re-energized coach Paul Baruffi.
The Red Raiders graduated nearly everybody from last season's team, which won the state Group III championship.
Ocean City is young but talented with plenty of potential.
"It's a big change," Baruffi said. "I'm excited. We're going to show signs that we're a pretty good team at times, and we're going to show signs of our youth."
The Red Raiders will feature freshman Grace Sacco at point guard.
"I think she's going to be a very special player," Baruffi said. "She handles the ball well. She sees the court extremely well."
Sophomores Olivia Briggs and Nicole Piergross saw time as freshmen.
The Red Raiders are still capable of challenging for a berth in the Cape-Atlantic League Tournament. Taylor Price, a 5-10 forward, will be the lone senior starter.
"I feel there's a core of girls that are going to get better as the season goes on," Baruffi said. "I think on any given night we can play with a lot of teams, but there's going to be those nights that are rough. I'm looking for how they react to that."
