The St. Joseph High School football team will get a first-round playoff bye.
The New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association released the official playoff pairings. Only seven teams in the state Non-Public I bracket elected to participate in the playoff, so undefeated St. Joe, the top seed, will get a first-round bye, which means the Wildcats will be off for 18 days before they meet Hammonton in a regular-season contest on Nov. 21.
Teams that did not make the playoffs will participate in consolation games this weekend. The times for those games have yet to be finalized.
