FB Spirit vs. St. Joes

Holy Spirit will host Delsea Regional at 7 p.m. Friday in one of the top matchups of the weekend.

A meeting of two high school football teams accustomed to playing for championships highlights this weekend’s high school football schedule.

Delsea Regional (1-2) will play at Holy Spirit (2-1) at 7 p.m. Friday. The game will be broadcast on 101.3 FM. Holy Spirit is No. 10 in The Press Elite 11.

Delsea has been to five straight South Jersey Group III finals. The Crusaders won four consecutive Group III championships from 2012-15.

Holy Spirit has reached a state nonpublic final six of the past seven years.

Delsea has won two of its three games on the field this season. The Crusaders had to forfeit a Sept. 15 28-20 win over Cedar Creek for using an ineligible player.

Delsea running back Aidan Borguet has rushed for five touchdowns.

Senior quarterback Josh Zamot (449 passing yards and six touchdown passes) and sophomore running back Elijah Gray (535 rushing yards and nine touchdowns) lead Holy Spirit.

The Spartans beat Delsea 14-7 last season.

West Jersey Football League

Interdivision

Collingswood (1-1) at Buena Regional (2-1)

6 p.m. Friday

Buena Regional has won two straight. Chiefs quarterback Nick Kotova threw three touchdown passes in last week’s 40-14 win over Middle Township. Collingswood relies on the running of Michael Jenkins (257 rushing yards, four touchdowns) and Abdul Bangura (254 rushing yards, four touchdowns).

Gloucester Catholic (2-0) at Middle Township (2-2)

6 p.m. Friday

Middle quarterback Cameron Hamer has run for two scores and thrown two touchdown passes. Gloucester Catholic is trying to start 3-0 for the first time since 2008.

Lower Cape May Regional (0-3) at Wildwood (0-3)

Noon Saturday (98.7 FM)

These teams renewed their rivalry last season with Lower winning 21-0. Wildwood hasn’t beaten Lower since 1981. Lower leads the series 45-21-5. Lower quarterback Brennan Ray has rushed for 230 yards and two touchdowns. Vito Hernandez scored Wildwood’s lone touchdown in a 47-8 loss to Gloucester last week.

Overbrook (1-2)

at Oakcrest (0-3)

7:30 p.m. Friday

Linebacker Dominique Daniel leads the Oakcrest defense with 33 tackles and two fumble recoveries. Falcons quarterback Nico Conti has thrown two touchdown passes. Overbrook comes off a 48-14 loss to West Deptford.

Vineland (3-0) at Cumberland Regional (0-3)

6 p.m. Friday (1440 AM)

Vineland is No. 3 in The Press Elite 11. Fighting Clan quarterback Isaih Pacheco has run for 459 yards and six touchdowns. Cumberland quarterback Ta’quan Green has thrown for 423 yards and four touchdowns.

Pennsville (1-2) at St. Joseph (3-0)

Noon Saturday

St. Joseph is No. 6 in The Press Elite 11. Wildcats freshman linebacker Angelo Vokolos has made 29 tackles, seven for losses. Senior defensive end Matt Jackson has 3.5 sacks. Pennsville has lost two straight after a season-opening 18-12 win over Woodstown.

Camden (2-1) at Cedar Creek (3-0)

1 p.m. Saturday

Cedar Creek sophomore quarterback Louie Barrios has rushed for four touchdowns and also completed 40 of 59 passes for 508 yards and three touchdowns. Camden quarterback Premire Wilson has thrown for 438 yards and five touchdowns. Camden beat Cedar Creek 31-12 last season.

Millville (3-0) at Williamstown (2-1)

7 p.m. Saturday

Millville is No. 1 in The Press Elite 11. Thunderbolts quarterback E.J. Nichols has completed 18 of 27 passes for 251 yards and five touchdowns. Clayton Scott has rushed for 427 yards. Williamstown beat Hammonton 35-14 last week.

Shore Conference

Barnegat (3-0) at Manasquan (1-2)

1 p.m. Saturday

Barnegat is 3-0 for the first time since 2013. Bengals tight end Sean Morris has caught 16 passes for 314 yards and four touchdowns. Levin Musawa (10 tackles for losses) leads the Barnegat defense. Manasquan is the defending Central Jersey Group II champion.

Lacey Township (2-1) at Jackson Liberty (0-3)

7 p.m. Friday

Lacey junior linebacker Greg Chadwick has five tackles for losses. Lions running back Jason Giresi has rushed for five touchdowns. Jackson has lost its past two games by a total of four points.

Pinelands Regional (1-2) at Keansburg (1-2)

1 p.m. Saturday

Pinelands running back Evan Burton has rushed for 472 yards and seven touchdowns. Keansburg lost to Shore Regional 27-20 last week.
