Former Pleasantville track star Nia Ali finishes eighth in Olympic Trials hurdles final

Former Pleasantville High School track and field runner Nia Ali finished eighth in the finals of the women's 100-meter hurdles at the U.S. Olympic Trials today at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Ore.

Ali finished in a time of 13.02 seconds.

Dawn Harper won the race to defend her Olympic gold medal in the London Games.

Harper finished in 12.73 seconds. She’ll be accompanied to London by runner-up Kellie Wells and third-place Lolo Jones. Wells finished in 12.77, and Jones in 12.86.

Earlier on Saturday, Ali finished fourth in the second of three heats in 12.84 seconds to earn the eighth and final spot in the final on time.
