RHP A.J. Holland (Holy Spirit) did not pitch in the Rome Braves’ 5-3 win in the Class-A South Atlantic League playoffs against the Asheville Tourists (Rockies) in the opener of a best-of-three playoff series Wednesday.
Holland finished the regular season 5-9 with a 4.04 ERA in 17 games, including 15 starts.
LHP Scott DeCecco (Middle Township) did not pitch as the Everett AquaSox (Mariners) lost 7-4 to the Vancouver Canadians (Blue Jays) and lost their best-of-three playoff series 2-0 in the short-season Class-A Northwest League on Tuesday night.
DeCecco went 2-4 with a 5.95 ERA in 16 games, including nine starts, in the regular season. He did not pitch in either playoff game.
