Holy Spirit High School won the girls team title at the annual Greenhead Sprints indoor rowing regatta on Saturday at the Brigantine Elementary School. Christian Brothers Academy, of Lincroft, won the boys team championship.

The rowers competed on ergometer rowing machines for 2,000 meters apiece.

Lauren Turner of Holy Spirit took first in the vasity girls division in 7 minutes, 28.4 seconds. Mike Steinbrick of CBA was first in the vasity boys division in 6:33.0.

The team competition had eight members of each team rowing. That included two from the varsity eight, and two apiece from the junior eight, lightweight eight and freshman eight. The eight times were averaged together.

The Holy Spirit girls crew won in 7:48.4. The CBA boys team won in 6:42.8.

The event had 523 athletes, from Absegami, Atlantic City, Cedar Creek, CBA, Holy Spiit, Mainland Regional, Oakcrest, Ocean City, St. Augustine Prep and Vineland.
