LHP Scott DeCecco (Middle Township) was the losing pitcher Sunday as the Class A Everett AquaSox (Mariners) fell 3-1 to the Tri-City Dust Devils in the Northwest League. DeCecco allowed two hits and two runs (both unearned) in one inning. DeCecco did not pitch in Everett's 7-2 win over Tri-City on Monday.
DH Alexi Colon (St. Augustine Prep) did not play as the Eugene Emeralds (Padres) beat the Yakima Bears 3-0 Monday in the short-season Class A Northwest League. Colon is batting .333 with a home run.
OF Matt Szczur (Lower Cape May Regional) did not play in the Daytona Cubs’ 6-3 loss to the Tampa Yankees on Monday. Szczur is hitting .267 with 43 runs scored and 19 stolen bases in 48 games in the Class-A Florida State League.
CF Darren Ford (Vineland) and Tacoma Rainiers (Mariners) of the triple-A Pacific Coast League were off Monday. Ford is hitting .357 after three games this season.
