RF Alexi Colon (St. Augustine Prep) did not play as the Eugene Emeralds (Padres) beat the Boise Hawks (Cubs) 7-4 on Wednesday in a short-season Class A Northwest League game.
CF Darren Ford (Vineland) did was not in the lineup for the Tacoma Rainiers (Mariners) against the Reno Aces in a triple-A Pacific Coast League game that ended too late for this edition. Ford was hitting .357 in three games through Monday.
OF Matt Szczur (Lower Cape May Regional) did not pay as the Daytona Cubs beat the Tampa Yankees 3-2. Szczur has not played since May 31 due to a knee injury, but he was activated from the disabled list Monday, and the team said he was expected to play sometime this series. Szczur is hitting .267 with 43 runs scored and 19 stolen bases in 48 games in the Advanced Class A Florida State League.
LHP Scott DeCecco (Middle Township) was not in the lineup as the short-season Class A Everett AquaSox (Mariners) played the Spokane Indians in a Northwest League game that ended too late for this edition. DeCecco has appeared in one of Everett’s first six games, allowing two unearned runs in one inning.
