Matt Szczur (Lower Cape May Regional) went 0-for-4 with a run, an RBI and a walk for the Daytona Cubs in a 12-8 loss to the Jupiter Hammerheads (Marlins) on Fridday in the Advanced-A Florida State League. Szczur, who batted third as the designated hitter, is hitting .283 through 73 games.

Darren Ford (Vineland) and the Tacoma Rainers lost 13-6 to the Colorado Springs Sky Sox in a Pacific Coast League game. Ford did not play. Ford went 1-for-5 with an RBI, two strikeouts and a stolen base in a 14-3 loss Thursday to the Sacramento River Cats (Athletics). Ford was hitting .325 with 16 stolen bases in 27 games.

Alexi Colon (St. Augustine Prep) was 0-for-1 as a pinch-hitter for the Eugene Emeralds (Padres) in a 7-2 win against the Boise Hawks (Cubs) in the short-season Class A Northwest League. He is batting .100. Colon did not play in Eugene’s 2-1 win Thursday.

Scott DeCecco (Middle Township) was 0-1 with a 3.94 ERA in seven appearances, six in relief, for the Everett AquaSox (Mariners). He did not pitch in a 2-1 win over the Yakima Bears (Diamondbacks)in a Northwest League game. DeCecco did not pitch Thursday in Everett’s 5-3 win against Yakima.

A.J. Holland (Holy Spirit) is 1-1 with a 6.35 ERA in four games on a rehab assignment with the Gulf Coast League Braves. Holland, who did not pitch in a 7-1 loss to the GCL Tigers on Friday, is on assignment from the Rome Braves of the Class-A South Atlantic League.
