For previews of other games this weekend:

The Oakcrest High School football team will look across the field at a familiar face when it plays Mainland Regional in a West Jersey Football League Independence Division game Friday.

Mainland coach Chuck Smith was the Oakcrest head coach from 2010-15. Eric Arnold, who was a long-time Oakcrest assistant, now coaches the Falcons.

"It will be nice to see (Smith)," Oakcrest senior quarterback Kendall Elliott said. "But we're on a mission. It will be a different feeling. We're not used to seeing him on the other side of the field."

Oakcrest (2-0) and Mainland (0-2) will kick off at 6 p.m. in Linwood.

Elliott leads the Falcons with 285 passing yards and 204 rushing yards. He has thrown for two touchdowns and run for four.

Mainland features linebacker Dalton Raring, who has made 13 tackles, 2 of them for losses.

Oakcrest won its two games by a combined score of 68-6.

"We're looking to keep the momentum going," Elliott said. "There's a lot of excitement around the school. There's a lot of energy in the hallways. The students and the teachers really notice the difference when the football team is doing well."
