The Ocean City and St. Joseph high school field hockey teams both won South Jersey titles this week, and will play state semifinal games today.

Ocean City (19-1), the South Jersey Group III champion and ranked third in The Press Elite 11, meets Moorestown, the Central Jersey champion, at 5 p.m. at Egg Harbor Township High School in a Group III state semifinal. Moorestown (19-2) is ranked sixth in the Elite 11.

St. Joseph (22-1), the South Jersey Group I champion and the Elite 11's No. 9 team, plays Maple Shade (16-4), the Central winner, at 3 p.m. at Egg Harbor Township High in a Group I state semifinal.

Ocean City beat Kingsway Regional 6-0 Tuesday in the Group III sectional final at Egg Harbor Township High on two goals apiece by Jacquie Fenton, Paige Broadley and Kelly Hanna.

St. Joseph topped visiting Glassboro 3-0 on Wednesday in its South Jersey final as Marielena Dottoli scored two goals and Emily DeMarco one.

Ocean City lost only to top-ranked Eastern 8-1 and has shut out every other opponent except Camden Catholic, which the Red Raiders beat 4-2. Offensively, Ocean City is led by Fenton, Broadley, Lauren McNally, April Stein and Hanna. Casey Hanna is a two-way midfielder, and other leaders are Courtney Allen and Rachael Young. Goalie Katie Johnson has 18 shutouts, including two shared.

Moorestown lost to Eastern 10-0 and Collingwood 3-0 but has wins over New Egypt (4-0) and Shawnee (4-2). The Quakers are led by scorers Mary Flick, Jess Dadino and Sarah Powell, and goalie Laya Mallela.

St. Joseph's one loss is to Collingswood, 3-0. DeMarco tops the area with 39 goals, and the Wildcats have other scorers, such as Dottoli, Molly Mullee and Carlina Sacco. Standout Gina Smith is back from an injury. Others are sisters Gina and Joanna Umosella, Cori Weiss and Ryan Quicksill. The Wildcats' Becky Boffo has 13 shutouts.

Maple Shade, the fifth seed in Central Jersey Group I, won three games on the road to win the crown. Maple Shade, also known as the Wildcats, beat Haddon Heights 2-1 in overtime to win the Central title. Leaders are April Fisher, Tara Horvath, Mackenzie Karcher and goalie Jamie Bennett.
