The Pinelands Regional High School softball team opened the Shore Conference Tournament with a 3-0 win over Keyport on Friday.

Jessie Rising pitched a complete-game no-hitter, striking out 14 for the Wildcats. It was her third no-hitter of the season. Nicole Burke doubled and Rising tripled.

Tenth-seeded Pinelands plays seventh-seeded Red Bank Catholic on Wednesday in the Shore Conference Tournament.

Storz drove in Kyle Transue, who doubled the previous at-bat. Transue went 2 for 4 with a run scored. Jordan Sweeney singled and drove in two runs.

St. Augustine (12-12) fell to Pennsauken Tech 25-19, 25-19 in its final match of the season. Nick Pilny had one kill, one ace, 11 assists and 10 digs for the Hermits. Kyle Griffiths added one kill and 19 digs. Brent Jarman had five kills, one block one assist and six digs.

Girls track and field

Hammonton High School senior Ashley Ranere had two wins at the Tri-County Conference Track and Field Championships on Thursday.

Ranere won the girls 3,200 meters and was part of the Blue Devils’ winning 4x800 relay team. The other members were Brooke Finnerty, Meagan McFerren and Riley Patterson. The meet’s timing system had problems, and the 3,200 had no official time. The winning time in the 4x800 was 10 minutes, 12.5 seconds.

Hammonton’s Alexa Gardner won the girls javelin with a throw of 132 feet, 3 inches.
