The Absegami High School field hockey team blanked visiting Cedar Creek 3-0 in a Cape-Atlantic League inter-conference season opener on Friday.

Brielle Clarke scored the winning goal for Absegami seven minutes into the game, and Nicole Goodwin added goals in each half. Clarke assisted on Goodwin's first goal and Sara Pietropola got the assist on the second-half goal.

Absegami goalie Sam Becker made five saves for the shutout. Cedar Creek goalies Katherine Gulig and Cione Gonzalez split time and combined for 12 saves.
