The Freehold Boro High School field hockey team edged previously unbeaten Southern Regional 2-1 in overtime Saturday in a Shore Conference Tournament quarterfinal game.

Southern (17-1) is ranked seventh in The Press Elite 11.

Alicia Theoret scored the winning goal with 1 minute, 48 seconds left in the first overtime after a crossfield pass. Southern's Ann Marie Stango made it 1-0 four minutes into the game, and Katie Lucini tied it for the visiting Colonials with 10 minutes left in regulation. The Ram outshot Freehold 19-3. Alyson Leblanc made 16 saves for the Colonials.
