The Pinelands Regional High School girls soccer team advanced on penalty kicks against host Ocean City in their South Jersey Group III first-round game on Tuesday. The two teams were tied at 1-1 through regulation and two overtime periods.

In the shootout, it was 3-3 after the first 10 shooters. Pinelands Regional's Heather Scott made the Wildcats' next kick and goalie Breanna Wilson made a diving save to stop Ocean City's shot.

Pinelands, the No. 10 seed, will play at second-seeded Central Regional in the quarterfinals at a date to be determined. O.C. was the seventh seed.

Ocean City freshman Veronica Garcia scored first with 12 minutes remaining in regulation. Ashley Edgell had the assist.

Alicia Herbert scored the unassisted tying goal for the Wildcats two minutes later.
