The Wildwood High School girls soccer team defeated Clayton 2-1 in a Tri-County Conference game on Thursday.
The Warriors evened their record at 5-5 and, according to coach Brad MacLeod, it's the first time the team has won at least five games since he became coach in 2008.
"To have five wins at the halfway point is pretty special," MacLeod said in an email. "This group of girls has a tremendous amount of heart paired with talent and determination. So far it has proven to be a winning combination."
MacLeod also said it's the first time the Warriors have beaten Clayton since 2008.
The game remained tied at 1-1 for most of the second half until Jillian Freeman scored her second goal with 2:39 remaining to win the game.
