The Oakcrest High School volleyball team dealt host Absegami its first loss of the season 2-1 Thursday in a Cape-Atlantic League match.

The Falcons fought back from a 25-18 loss in the first game to win the next two 25-17 and 25-10.

Tatiyana Cosme slammed eight kills and three aces. Tiffany Valiente added eight kills and a block, while Erin Thompson had 13 assists and an ace.

Stephanie Howard had four aces for Oakcrest.

For Absegami, sophomore outside hitter Ivelisse Diaz recorded five kills and three digs for Absegami, while senior outside hitter Erika Hernandez had four kills and four digs.

Sophomore setter Dionise Ko contributed with 15 assists and four digs.

Despite the loss, Braves' coach Kerry Flukey said her team won the CAL in its first year.
