From Press staff reports

The Egg Harbor Township High School baseball team earned a big Cape-Atlantic League win on Friday, beating St. Augustine Prep 4-2.

St. Augustine (11-4) is No. 4 in The Press Elite 11. EHT (10-5) is unranked.

Sophomore Brandon Riggs, making his first career varsity start, pitched a complete game. He allowed two runs on seven hits and one walk, striking out one.

Riggs improved his record to 3-0, having earned his other two winning decisions in relief.

"He's a kid that feels no pressure," coach Bryan Carmichael said on the phone. "He just goes out there and does his job. He throws his three pitches for strikes. He's not going to overpower you."

Carmichael added that the Eagles played great defense behind Riggs.

EHT's Todd Henry went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Monny Strickland was 2-for-4 with a run.

St. Augustine's Matt McCourt had a double.

EHT plays against Audubon today at 12:30 p.m. in the West Deptford Tournament.
