Cedar Creek's Zach Newman had three hits, four RBIs and three stolen bases. The Pirates, ranked ninth in The Press Elite 11, ended the game in the fifth inning on the 10-run rule. Martin Ortiz added two hits, two runs and two RBIs for host Cedar Creek, and Giuseppe Scanga had two hits and two runs. Pirates pitcher Jesse Milza went five innings, struck out six and walked two.

For Tech, Trevor Gehring singled in a run and Vinny DeRitis doubled.
