The Ocean City High School girls lacrosse team is headed to the South Jersey Group III semifinals for the first time in program history.
The third-seeded Red Raiders beat sixth-seeded Central Regional 15-6 in a quarterfinal matchup Thursday.
The Red Raiders never before reached the third round of the sectional playoffs.
Emily DiMarino led the Raiders with four goals and an assist. Riallen Allen added a goal and three assists. Shannon O’Reilly scored four goals, and Dara Hennessy and Danielle Donoghue each added two goals and an assist.
Ocean City, ranked No. 4 in The Press Elite 11, will next face second-seeded Seneca, which beat Toms River South 19-6 on Thursday.

Southern’s Colleen Mason scored a career-high five goals and had an assist, and Kelly Fontana added four goals, also a career high. The Rams scored nine goals in the second half. Rachel Sauer had two assists for the host Rams. Clare McCarthy made seven saves. Madison Nobel and Emily Herbst each scored two goals for Toms River East.
