Ocean City High School senior golfer Dom DiGiacomo shot six birdies for a score of 30 on the par-36 Links at Brigantine Beach on Friday as the Red Raiders golf team beat host Atlantic City 152-174. DiGiacomo made birdies on the final five holes.
"I didn't think about it too much until it was over and my friend Steve (Pashuck, another O.C. golfer) was laughing about it," said DiGiacomo, an 18-year-old Ocean City resident. "I got a 3-under last year, but never 6-under. It makes me feel good to know you can do it. It makes you feel you do it more, once you do it.
"I asked the guy at the desk what the course record (for 18 holes) is there, and he said 'five or six under'. I wanted to go back and play the last nine, but I didn't have the time."
Pashuck shot a 36 for Ocean City, making the only other birdie on the day.
Atlantic City was led by Mike Lange III's 39.
