The Middle Township High School girls softball team upset No. 2 seed Overbrook on Thursday 6-1 in a South Jersey Group II playoff game.

The Panthers broke open a 1-1 game in the top of the seventh inning by sending 11 batters to the plate and scoring five runs.

Madison Peteani, who scored two runs herself, drove in courtesy runner Devon Nagle with the game winner.

Chelsea Bright was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Tori Sittineri was 2-for-4 with a run scored and also was the winning pitcher, striking out two.

Middle coach Lauren Ruef said that the Panthers have won 10 of their last 11 games and have only lost twice, to Sacred Heart, since May 1.

"The girls are very exicted," she said. "The last couple of weeks they show up to the field believing that that they can win. I can just see that they don't want their season to end."

Middle advances to the Group II semfinals to play the winner of a game between No. 11 seed Deptford and No. 3 West Deptford.
