Christian Mortellite led all scorers with 34 points as Hammonton High School secured its lead and beat Vineland 64-60 in a Cape-Atlantic League American Conference boys basketball game Wednesday.

The Blue Devils shot 19-for-20 from the free-throw line, Mortellite went 12-for-12.

Devon Porteons added 12 for Hammonton.

Vineland was down early and came within one point in the fourth quarter, but had two turnovers in the last 20 seconds.

Eddie Thomas led Vineland with 18 points and Jola Barbalola added 14.
