Trevor Gehring and Mitch Ianneillo each won three events for Cape May Tech as they edged Buena Regional 89-81 in a Cape-Atlantic League National Conference coed swimming meet Tuesday.

Head coach Matthew McElroy said the meet was Tech's closest conference matchup in two years.

In just the second meet of the year, sophomore Ianeillo qualified for the South Jersey Interscholastic Swimming Association Invitational in the 50 freestyle. Ianeillo won the event in 25.03 seconds. He was also a part of the winning medley relay and 200 freestyle relay teams.

Gehring won the 100 butterfly and was a part of the medley relay and 400 free relay teams. He also qualified for the SJISA Invitational in the backstroke.

Vlad Kozub led Buena with victories in the 200 IM and backstroke.
