The Holy Spirit High School coed swimming team beat host Pleasantville 121-11 Friday and clinched the Cape-Atlantic League National Conference boys championship. James Muller and Matt Stewart each had two individual wins for the Spartans.

Holy Spirit completed its National Conference schedule with an 8-1 mark. Ocean City also has one loss in the conference, but Holy Spirit clinched the title due to the CAL head-to-head tiebreaker. The Spartans beat Ocean City 88-82 on Dec. 7.

Holy Spirit won the CAL National Conference two years ago, while Cape May Tech took the title last year.

"There was probably no one goal that was bigger for us than to regain the conference title," said Nick Steffanci, Holy Spirit's second-year coach. "I don't know about next year, but we'll see. Middle Township is strong, and Cape May Tech could turn things around. Ocean City, on a different day might have taken us. And Buena is strong."
