From Press staff reports

Atlantic City High School's Sahara Lopez scored a game-high 20 points as she scored her 1,000th point late in the fourth quarter in a 57-49 victory over Vineland in a Cape-Atlantic League American Division girls basketball game Tuesday.

Lopez scored her 1,000th point on a wide-open layup with an assist from Deaja Reynolds.

"It's such a great accomplishment, I wouldn't have been able to do it without Deaja and my teammates," Lopez said. "I want to thank my coach, Chris Ford Jr., for pushing me so hard since my freshman year. Without him, I wouldn't be the dominant player that I am today."

The senior also had six assists and five rebounds.

Reynolds totaled 16 points, while Mone't Gist scored eight and had 13 rebounds and five steals for the Vikings.

Tanasia Russell led Vineland with 14 points and Iesha Watson added 12 for the Fighting Clan.
